Combining Puppy Stakes + Hunt Tests on PerfDog
Combining Puppy Stakes + Hunt Tests on PerfDog
Updated over a week ago

Currently, PerfDog cannot combine two different recording methods (FT placements and HT qualifiers) within one event. However, we offer two workarounds until this functionality is added.

Choosing the Right Option:

  • Option 1 (Recommended): Separate Events with "Partnering":

    • This creates two separate events linked together, allowing participants to register for one and then easily add the other while checking out. See this short video: https://youtu.be/ZDtH5rKZNFk

    • Benefits:

      • Each event receives accurate AKC paperwork (catalogs, etc.) with the correct recording method (placements for FT, qualifiers for HT).

      • Age verification for FT puppy stake.

      • Separate running orders, catalogs, and AKC paperwork on PerfDog.

    • Drawbacks:

  • Option 2: Combine puppy stake within Hunt Test:

    • All stakes would be visible for entry on one screen. See this short video: https://youtu.be/jkJgk0NwI6w

    • Benefits:

      • Simpler setup with one event.

    • Drawbacks:

      • No FT placements catalog, only a HT qualifiers catalog.

      • Manual completion of AKC form needed for FT placements.

      • No age verification for FT puppy stake (manual checking required).

      • Bracing sheets include all stakes, including the puppy stake (confusing).

Recommendation: We highly recommend Option 1 for accurate recordkeeping and proper AKC paperwork.

Contact & Support:

Once you've chosen your preferred option, contact us at [email protected] with your club name, event numbers, and chosen option. We'll set up your Puppy Stake + Hunt Test and let you know when you can dive into setup!

Note: If your club is holding a puppy field trial stake with a hunt test, the puppy stake may be the only stake found (as a Field Trial) in our database. Your related hunt test may not appear at all. We're working on a fix for this, but feel free to contact us for assistance in the meantime - [email protected].
