This article explains how to add your dog's information to your PerfDog account. This information is essential for entering your dog in events and ensuring their achievements are recorded correctly.
RATTLESNAKE CLINICS: If you don't plan to compete in AKC or other official events, choose "No" in the Is your dog registered popup message.
Why Add Your Dog?
Your dog's information is needed for:
Reporting results to the AKC or parent club after an event.
Submitting valid entries for events.
Ensuring accurate placement and qualifying runs for your dog.
Adding Your Dog

While Entering an Event:
If you haven't saved your dog's information yet, you'll be prompted to add it during the event entry process. This information is then permanently saved in your PerfDog account.

Step-by-Step Guide (Instructions with screenshots)
1. Preparation
Gather the following information:
AKC registration number (if applicable)
Sire and dam registered names (if applicable)
Owner, breeder, and handler details
2. Registration
Registration type
PerfDog's default Registration type is AKC, which is a requirement to participate in AKC events. For other events such as clinics, fun days, etc., a different Registration type can be chosen, including OTHER.
Registration number type
Choose the type of registration number your dog has.
Registration number
For AKC events, your dog's Registration number is required before proceeding.
Verifying Dog Information:
Entering your dog's registration number may trigger a pop-up to confirm if it's the correct dog. If confirmed, PerfDog will return you to the dog list with the confirmed dog highlighted in blue.
However, if the dog's call name is incorrect, you'll need to edit its profile. PerfDog might have some basic information from past events, but details like call name, parents, and people might be missing.
Remember, any missing information will prevent your dog from being entered in events. It won't appear in your dog's list on the entry screen until its information is complete.
