Hunt Test Advanced titles - info for Secretaries
Updated over a week ago

When registrants enter their dog in a Hunt Test at PerfDog, they have the opportunity to check a box indicating their dog is pursuing an 'Advanced' title.

Pointing Breed Hunt Test Secretaries and Chairs can view 'Advanced' level entries in their event in the Quick Entries View screen or in the Entries Reports under Report.

PerfDog also publishes 'Adv' on the scorecards.

Note that keeping track of a dog's 'Advanced' title passes is the responsibility of the dog's owner. Keep in mind that a dog could get a JH pass, but not have high enough scores for a JHA pass. See Chapter 2, Qualifying Scores, Awarding of Titles in Regulations for AKC Hunting Tests for Pointing Breeds for more information about scoring. It's the responsibility of the entrant/handler to 1) keep track of the dog's scores/passes and provide the form to the secretary to sign, 2) get the secretary's signature on the form (if the dog gets high enough scores), and 3) submit the form (and pay a fee) to the AKC once the 5 qualifying passes are acquired.
Some folks forget to bring their form to the Hunt Test. Scanning and emailing it to the hunt test secretary for a signature after the event has completed is an acceptable practice. The hunt test secretary should then scan and email the form back to the entrant so they can continue to record their subsequent passes.

From the AKC Hunt Test for Pointing Breed rule book:

In order to receive a Qualifying score in Junior Advanced, Senior Advanced and Master Advanced Hunting Tests, a dog must acquire a minimum score of not less than five (5) on each of the categories of abilities (4 categories in Junior, 6 categories in Senior and Master) listed on the Score Card, with an overall average score of not less than 8.0. (Ch. 2, Section 1 of the Regulations for AKC® Hunting Tests for Pointing Breeds)
