This guide explains how to use the Catalog to record placements at your field trial and submit them to the AKC.
When using the Catalog, there's no need for a printer or labels. Just print it ahead of time, mark the placements within the catalog, get judges' signatures, and send it to the AKC. (Yes, it's allowed! Look in the rule book! 😀)
What is the Catalog?
The Catalog is a printable document that allows you to record dog placements for each stake in your trial. It's organized in the same order as your bracing sheet and becomes available for printing once you finalize your Running Order.
Before Your Event Begins:
Locate the Catalog under "Manage Catalog" in your event administration page.
We recommend using the "One stake at a time" option when printing.
Using the Catalog at Your Event:
The Catalog comes with instructions for easy reference during the trial.
Mark the placement number for each dog in the designated boxes.
If a placement is withheld, you can make a note on the judge's certification page for that stake.
If no Awards of Merit (AOM) are awarded, write "None" on all AOM pages. These pages are still included in the page count, so don't remove them. You can mark a large "X" to indicate no AOM before judges sign.
Record the number of starters, breeds entered, and AOM winners in each stake.
Once placements are finalized, have judges sign the certification page for each stake and initial relevant pages. The secretary should also sign each certification page.
Submitting Results to the AKC:
The Catalog is one of several documents you need to submit to the AKC. Refer to the article "Judges' book & Secretary report" for a complete list
Alternative: Print On-Site Reports for Judges to Sign (Optional)
If you have a printer, laptop, and internet access at the event site, consider using PerfDog's "Field Trial Report" feature. This lets you enter results electronically and print reports on-site for judge signatures, eliminating the need for pre-printed catalogs.
