All dog clubs are different and can have different membership status and processes. We currently have these statuses (click one to read more below):
We've included several status options for clubs. If your club has a status we don't offer, please let us know.
At this time, you must manually change the status of a member in order to update it in the system. It's not automatic.
All new members who apply to be a member of your club at PerfDog are placed in the "Needs reading" status. If your club does not vote to allow members into your club, please change the status to Active so that their status is correct and will receive emails that you send out to Active members.
Member status options:
Note: Emails are sent to the pending member in all cases except when moving to or from "Draft."
Needs reading:
This is the automatic status that is assigned to NEW members when they first apply to be a member in your club. Some clubs have an approval or voting process and this is essentially the "holding" status until that happens. At this time, PerfDog requires that an administrator update/change this status for members either immediately after joining (no approval process necessary) or after the approval/voting process is complete in order to make the member "Active."
The club secretary or membership administrator receives an email when a new member applies for membership in their club and can determine next steps for the new member as is required for their club.
Needs vote:
For some clubs, this is the next step after "Needs reading" in order to approve a membership in their club. When a potential member is assigned the "Needs vote" status, they can be included in the Survey/Vote if your club accepts electronic/online voting. Active:
This status is as is sounds, for Active members.
Rejected:
Members who were not voted in to the club.
Expired:
The member did not renew for another year. They can still rejoin your club through PerfDog.
Draft:
This status displays when you partially complete an application for a member or, when someone has partially completed their membership application. View our article to learn how to add members to your club's list: How to add a club member
