Checks due and collected at event
Updated over a week ago

Checks Collected at Your Event:

  • Don't worry about manually recording checks! If you collect checks from entrants who you gave special permission to pay at the event (by waiting list or entering on their behalf), you don't need to individually enter them in the PerfDog system.

  • Automatic Update: When you finalize your event, PerfDog will automatically clear the amount owed from the entrant's balance and reflect that funds were received in your event's financial records.

Understanding Payment Options During Entry:

When a secretary or admin enters a dog for someone else, PerfDog offers two payment methods:

  1. Pay with Credit Card: You can use a credit card the entrant provided to you.

  2. Allow Check at Event: The entrant will bring a check payable to your club.

What Happens When You Choose "Pay by Check"

  • By selecting "pay by check," you agree to collect the entry fee from the entrant.

  • The entry fee is immediately reflected as "paid directly to your club" in your financial summary and is deducted from your final proceeds.

  • The confirmation email sent to the entrant not only tells them they can bring a check to the event (payable to your club), but also gives them a link to pay online at perfdog.com

What Happens if the Entrant Pays Online

  • If the entrant logs in to PerfDog and pays with a credit card before the event, their balance will show $0.

  • PerfDog will include those paid entry fees in the proceeds sent to your club.

Finding This Information:

All of this information will be reflected in your event's financial report.

Key Points:

  • Don't record checks collected at the event (originally due) in PerfDog.

  • Choose "pay by check" if entrants will pay at the event.

  • Online payments by entrants are automatically reflected in your final proceeds.
