Why You Might See a Waiting List for an Event That Isn't Full

You might be surprised to see a waiting list for an event that still has spots available. Here are the most common reasons:

  • Event Reached Limits Then Spots Opened: The event (or a specific level) may have reached one of the event limits, causing entries to go on the waiting list. Even if cancellations opened spots later, note that the existing waiting list entries are not automatically allowed in.

  • Administrator Increased Limits Manually: The event administrator may have increased the number of available spots or times after the waiting list began, but neglected to move entries from the waiting list to fill those new spots.

Maintaining Fairness:

PerfDog prioritizes fairness. Once an entry goes on the waiting list, all subsequent entries join it as well. This ensures everyone has a chance if spots open up.

Managing the Waiting List:

PerfDog doesn't automatically move entries from the waiting list. This gives event administrators complete control over who gets admitted. For instructions on managing the waiting list and letting dogs into the event, refer to this article:
